Your Leister TRIAC S or TRIAC PID plastic welding kit is supplied in a green moulded plastic case, as pictured above. The first step is to determine which TRIAC model you require.

The Leister TRIAC S is the tried and tested, industry-standard hot air tool. Temperature regulation is via a potentiometer knob at the bottom of the tool. The numbers on the dial correspond to specific temperatures. The setting chosen depends on the nozzle affixed, so check the charts located at the base of the heating barrel.

The Leister TRIAC PID is the premium version of the TRIAC range, with digital regulation of temperature. The screen provides information on dialled and actual temperature, for greater precision. A thermocouple running up the barrel of the tool monitors actual temperature and adjusts accordingly to ensure the desired temperature is maintained.
